Our Programs

Srujna believes that women empower not only themselves but create a ripple of change and transformation for their families and communities around them. Their focus is women from marginalized communities who need support to make a living. Depending on the level of skill sets with the women, the livelihood support is provided. The livelihood programmes focuses on capacity building, fostering community links and promoting small businesses.

Our model incorporates on ground partnerships with NGOs for community relationship building and knowledge partnerships with field experts for updated interventions.

Vision:

A world where every woman has the resources and the ability to lead a meaningful life

Mission:

To transform women in poverty into independent, confident and contributing members of their communities, through skill and business training, livelihood support & development of market linkages

A typical Srujna beneficiary

She is a woman aged 25-45 who starts out with little or no education and no employable skills. She is engaged in manual labour with meagre wages or unpaid labour. She suffers from poor health such as malnutrition, anaemia and others. She may or may not be the primary breadwinner of the family. She is sometimes the breadwinner of the family and maybe a victim of domestic abuse.

Interventions:

Srujna works in a community through a ground-partner organisation. From skills to sustainable income, we support our women through all the levels of growth. Our interventions can mainly be classified into:

Skill Training
Skill Training

Srujna provides one of its kind, customised skill training for women. Srujna women are trained in vocational skills like tailoring, jewellery, paper products, and chocolates. Every training is unique and developed post assessing the needs of the beneficiaries

Market Linkages
Workshops in Production

Srujna has developed workshops to train skilled women artisans, concepts of quality management, costing of products, marketing of products, and so on. These workshops are provided to organise women artisans into production groups and formalise their work.

The approach to these workshops is geared at increasing profitability and depending on the challenge or the gap the workshops are designed, along with professionals from the field.

Market Linkages
Market Linkages

Srujna provides market linkages to skilled women artisans through job work, orders and exhibitions. The job work is provided on a continuous basis through designers and company tie-ups. Products are catalogued on a regular basis and marketed to provide orders to these women's groups. Exhibitions are organised across India in corporate, universities and housing societies to provide a retail platform for these products.
